New book out soon!

Big news!!
A new Manga book I provide all illustrations, The BOOK OF FIVE RINGS is now available for order from Diamond's September 2012 Previews catalogue.

"This manga version of Japanese classic The Book of Five Rings, the iconic book of confrontation and victory by the famed 17th-century duelist and undefeated samurai Miyamoto Musashi, reinvigorates the classic, making it more accessible and appealing to a wide audience. With atmospheric manga art by Chie Kutsuwada (Hagakure, Romeo and Juliet, etc) and a fluid script adaptation by Sean Michael Wilson (AX:alternative manga, A Christmas Carol, etc) the manga version works both as an engaging visual guide to Japanese swordsmanship and strategy, and as a view into Musashi's world. A fascinating book for manga fans, martial art fans and anyone who wants to apply the timeless principles of this text to their lives."

Thanking all who bought my charity postcards

I have been selling those two postcards from time to time at the events I attended from Spring of 2011. I drew those two images especially for a charity reason, they are for the people and areas that suffers from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake.
Thank you for all of you who bought these cards from me.The amount became £65 plus 17 Euro, which is about ¥10,000 and I finally had a chance to go back to Japan to donated them. I did so through Japan Red Cross and this is the receipt! Ta-da!

Your one pound coin and kindness are in this receipt.

Thank you.

Posting problem

Hi all! Sorry for not updating so long time. Blogger's new look is not compatible with the browser I'm using... I can't post from my Mac now, so I'm doing it from my smart phone... My finger hurts! So for a while, please check my Face Book page for information. I need to sort out this problem quickly...!
(I just found out that I can still use the faithful old interface of Blogger so I can still make posts. But the notification said the old interface will go next month forever...)

Where I will be in next few weeks!

I thought it is still a New Year time... But it's actually already the final week of February?! Oh dear, dear dear....!! Owwww, I need to calm down...!! Breath in, breath out, in... and out...

Ok now, let me tell you where I will be in February and March!

Tomorrow, I mean today, Friday, 24th of Feb is the first day of one and only Hyper Japan!! It's a big three days event about Japanese Culture, traditional to modern, cool, pop and kawaii!! I and Inko share a table and ready to take commission work and also sell some postcards etc.

At the beginning of March, I will team up with Inko and Deadly Kawaii for Japan Expo Sud in Marseille, France. The event is from 2nd (Fri) to 5th (Sun) of March and we are under the name of D.K/UMISEN-YAMASEN and our booth number is H113! So if you are in France, come come! or you know someone in France who might be interested in manga/anime and Japanese culture, let them know about it!

On Monday 19th of March, I and Inko will be at Japan Day and Student Fair, organized by Doshisha University, which is one of the very high level and famous universities in Japan. We'll do drop in manga workshop there. You need to register to join this event, so please visit the website (click the name of the event to jump) for the detailed information.

On Saturday 24th of March, it's a Japanese pop and cosplay party night at Sainsbury Center of Visual Art, Norwich! It's After Hours: Kingdom of Characters, which is a part of very very exciting must see exhibition at this beautiful museum. I and Inko will do manga demonstrations and some more!

The end of March, on 31st of March (Sat) and 1st of April (Sun), I and Inko are at Hi-Ex The Highlands International Comic Expo in Inverness, Scotland. We are so so excited to go back there...! So if you are in Scotland, come come!! It's definitely one of the best and my favorite events.

Well, that's all for now.
Hope to see you somewhere very soon!!
